Brea grew up in a very boring and normal suburb on the Kansas side of Kansas City. She started College in Chicago studying theater in September 2001. Since then she has struggled to find a way to mix social justice and art, mostly in the medium of theater. She has ‘retired’ from the theater since moving to this River Town of Batavia, Illinois and now spends a lot of time walking her dog, reading, baking, making things and trying to figuring out what being human is all about. She owned a cute gift shop for a bit called FAWN Gifts. It sold beautiful handmade items but she knew very little about running a business and ran it into the ground. When she closed the doors of her shop she had a successful crowdfunding to ease the costs and pay off what she owed. She is eternally grateful to so many folks who carried her along. She will be writing thank you cards for a very long time and she is very much fine with that.
She struggled quite a bit with the questions (from everyone) of what she was going to do once she closed the shop. After some deep hibernation she has decided to gather and chronicle everything under this one umbrella as she 'does things' and 'lives her life.'
